Evaluative Points on Preliminary Task

Our Group

Good- We used good shot varieties, such as over the shoulder shot, shot-reverse-shot, match on     action, and plenty of effective low angle shots.
Good- The sound was clear and a variety of diegetic and non-diegetic sound was used
Good- The match on action was accurate
Good- Our lighting was suitable for the tone created
Bad- We could have had some dialogue from the character being interrogated
Bad- Using a Go-Pro tends to create a less realistic perspective

Group 2

Good- Use of shot-reverse-shot, match on action, over the shoulder shot
Good- Continuity all the way through
Good- Good variety of shots, for example close up shots

Bad- Dialogue unclear
Bad- Reflection of camera man in window
Bad- No use of sound effects (non-diegetic sounds)

Group 3

Good- Effective non-diegetic sound to create atmosphere
Good- Shot-reverse-shot in dialogue
Good- Use of rotating camera shot around characters face (arching track visually pleasing)
Good- Brief was followed and all required elements are included
Bad- Sound jump - suddenly intensifies and means dialogue can't be heard
Bad- Mix of diegetic and non-diegetic sound could be more accurate
Bad- Match on action should include the full range of movement in the action
Bad- Continuity error when Liv cut off mid speech

Group 4

Good- Good use of low-angle shot and over the shoulder shot
Good- Variety of positions through different shots
Good- Good flow of action
Bad- Continuity errors - looking at camera
Bad- Unstable shots
Bad- Make sure shot composition doesn't contain unwanted elements, for example cameras and crew
